Our goal is to sell the highest quality seed at competitive prices. We control the quality of our seed by using Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices to make them the best they can be. Our IPM program controls pests of the potato by combining cultural, chemical and biological methods, along with frequent field scouting.

Our program uses sustainable crop rotation, proper sanitization, nutrient management, border crops, and biorational chemicals that specifically target potato pests. If beneficial insects, fungi and bacteria are conserved, these natural enemies will thrive and aid in the management of the green peach aphid, Colorado potato beetle, and other potato pests.

We use the latest university research to provide a higher quality, dependable seed potato. Rutherford Seed Farm understands that potatoes are living organisms, and stores them accordingly. We harvest healthy seed potatoes and maintain that vigorous health in storage by providing the potato a static environment via computer controlled temperature equipment, and equal air circulation throughout the pile.
